Foundation
An independent operating foundation, NextEarth Foundation advances NextEarth Group’s commitment to engaged global corporate citizenship. We are dedicated to developing and supporting systemic solutions to critical sustainability challenges, where an entirely commercial approach may not be viable. The Foundation leverages the Group’s corporate expertise, resources, technologies and people to drive its work in the citizen sector.
The Foundation is both a catalyst and a direct agent for change — implementing its own projects or supporting the work of others, and collaborating with partners across sectors to design and carry out its initiatives. The Foundation is project-driven rather than program-driven, reflecting its highly entrepreneurial and adaptive approach to creating social and environmental impact.
Through direct participation, grant contributions, in-kind support, or a combination of all three, the Foundation works to address the following core areas of interest:
- Sustainable enterprise development for poverty alleviation
- Reducing the inequitable impacts of environmental degradation on underserved populations
- Expanding the role of the financial sector in sustainable development
- Institutionalizing sustainability practices and curriculum in higher education
- Improving access among underserved students to educational opportunities in conservation and science related fields
- Improving access to green-job skills development and training
The Foundation prefers to support or engage in efforts where its involvement will add significant value and make a meaningful impact. Whenever possible, the Foundation seeks to recruit, enable and partner with promising startup initiatives and emerging leaders.
